Looks Like Joe Manchin’s Concerned About Those Gas Stoves, Too.

Unsurprisingly, he’s teaming up with none other than Ted Cruz.

There are a number of things we can count on the GOP to do, and one would certainly be that they will relentlessly throw any random narrative out into the discourse in search of something that will stick. Given that reality, it shouldn’t really have come as any surprise that they have now resorted to claims that Democrats are looking to ban gas stoves, and will be forcing people to get alternatives. Naturally, Texas Senator Ted Cruz decided to run with it and introduce a bill to “protect” gas stoves.

He was joined, of course, by none other than West Virginia’s Joe Manchin.

Nick Robertson with The Hill writes:

“Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced a new bill Thursday that would prevent the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) from banning gas stoves.

The Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act comes on the heels of national debate over gas stoves after a CPSC commissioner raising the prospect of a ban on the appliances, citing studies that show gas stoves reduce air quality in homes and can lead to an increased risk of asthma in children in some cases.

The CPSC has not considered…
