Let’s Talk About Governor Ron DeSantis’ Latest Sadistic Immigration Stunt.

As we continue to attempt to navigate our way through increasingly dangerously polarized times, I and I’m sure countless others have come to realize there are a few things we can count on the Republican Party lawmakers to deliver for their base. We know the voters demand red meat, and lawmakers like Trump and DeSantis have discovered a convenient way to deliver it to them is via a callous power play. See, it works for a number of reasons. It pleases a base that thrives off of and demands these displays from their leaders, and it’s a necessary distraction from the fact that none of these elected officials are interested in meeting the needs of their constituents or helping them in any way whatsoever.
As we’ve all seen especially in recent days, Ron DeSantis has become the master of this behavior. DeSantis decided it would be a good idea to send two plans full of illegal immigrants, and send them from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
Amy Simonson and Priscilla Alvarez with CNN quoted the Florida Governor’s statement, which said:
“Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations…States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies…”
I mean, where do you even start?
This type of behavior is sociopathic at a minimum, and I would argue sadistic as well. We have to assume he gets some pleasure out of it, no? Or, at the very least, he feels utter indifference to the circumstances of these…
