It’s hard to believe its been over a year and a half since the covid-19 pandemic started. I haven’t seen my brother since February of 2020, and it feels as though there is no end to any of it in sight. Of course, we could spend forever talking about why that is, but one of the most glaringly obvious reasons would have to be the politicization of the virus almost from the moment it became clear that it was going to be having an impact on our lives. All that being said, the United States wasn’t exactly in a place of harmony and unity before the virus hit, which makes the politicization of the virus and the science behind the response even more devastating. For quite some time, particularly since the vaccine became widely available, I’ve been wondering just how disproportionate the rates of death would be among the conservatives vs liberals and progressives.

Well, it looks like we’re beginning to get a sense of just how deep the problem really is.

Ryan Grim with The Intercept took to Twitter to share excerpts and information from an article in The New York Times. The excerpt read:
