Joe Manchin’s Calling Himself a Victim Now.
As if there weren’t already enough reasons to loathe the West Virginia lawmaker.
As many of us have come to realize over the tenure of the Biden presidency, there are few lawmakers — particularly among the Democratic Party — more loathsome than Joe Manchin. The man has relished in his ability to be the de facto President, taking it upon himself to squash virtually every single piece of meaningful legislation put on the table. Manchin has gladly welcomed the opportunity to serve as the face of corrupt, corporate obstruction within the Democratic Party, and done an excellent job of filling the role.
Ah, but apparently, he views himself as the victim in the situation.
Caroline Vakil with The Hill writes:
“Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said in an interview on Thursday that he was “ostracized” and “victimized” after he poured cold water late last year on Democrats’ efforts to pass their major climate and social spending bill, the Build Back Better Act.
In a radio interview with West Virginia’s “Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval,” the centrist Democrat called the legislation “a bad bill for our economy,” comments that come a day after he reached a deal with Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on climate, taxes and…
