Joe Manchin Says He’d Pass a Climate Bill, but Only if it Reduces the Deficit.
In other words, he has no interest in it.
Joe Manchin has certainly made himself relevant in the past year for all the wrong reasons, and relished every second of it. It feels as though with each passing week there is a new reason to thoroughly despise him and everything he represents when it comes to obstruction of any progress Democrats could make, and right now is no different.
As anyone who follows politics knows, the Build Back Better Agenda — also referred to as the reconciliation bill — is dead, killed of course by Joe Manchin, other lawmakers hiding behind him, and perhaps most importantly of all, the powers that be who have purchased them as corporate dogs to do their bidding. But recently, Manchin was asked what it would take for him to get behind a more “modest” version of the legislation. Legislation, conveniently, that has already been scaled back to appease this morally bankrupt shell of a lawmaker.
