Joe Manchin Had a $5,800/Head Fundraiser with Major GOP Donors.
Because of course he did.
Ever since Joe Biden took power, West Virginia’s Senator Joe Manchin has essentially taken it upon himself to become the de-facto President. As everything unfolds it’s been impossible not to discuss how he is more than willing to become the face of a broader obstructionist movement within the party, and serve as an obstacle for virtually every single progressive policy proposal. His obstruction serves as a threat not just to what’s left of American “democracy”, but the future of the planet as we know it as well, so it’s admittedly impossible not to loathe him and everything he represents.
Unfortunately, Joe Manchin has — once again — forced us to talk about him.
As many of us have probably heard, Manchin met with Texas Democrats who literally fled the state to prevent the governor from being able to hold a vote on the state’s voting restriction legislation. While I applaud the efforts of Texas Democrats on the state level literally risking arrest to make their statements and hold out as long as they can, it seems as though the meeting with Manchin has been reduced to nothing more than theater considering his infamous support of the filibuster was not even mentioned.
