Joe Biden’s Breaking His Gun Control Promise.
He never meant a word of it.
As time went on after the 2020 primary and the general election that followed, it’s become increasingly clear that there was only one campaign promise that Biden intended to keep. It was a promise made to a room full of wealthy, elite, influential Democratic donors as he assured them under his Presidency, nothing would fundamentally change.
Nothing has changed, has it?
No voting rights bill. No student debt relief. No permanent child tax credit. No climate change legislation. No healthcare reform. No universal pre-k. The list goes on.
Well, now adding to the list of things that Biden has no interest in changing: gun reform.
Following the recent devastating shooting in Uvalde, Texas, the pressure has once again mounted for our politicians to do something to curb the level of gun violence we see across the country. Even the most common sense of legislation like universal background checks and getting rid of the gun show loop holes continues to go ignored while children die. Meanwhile, politicians send their typical “thoughts and prayers”.
When asked what he was going to do, Biden — of course — decided to pass it off to congress.
