It’s really going to be Harris and Buttigieg in 2024, isn’t it?
The Democratic establishment seems to be pushing hard for this ticket, and I’m not buying it.
If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about Democratic politics aside from the promise to overpromise and underdeliver, it’s the tendencies for their politicians, pundits, and advisors to fail upward and double down. I mean, why is Claire McCaskill of all people on MSNBC telling democratic lawmakers and hopefuls how to win elections? Of course, it’s not just her. After polling around 5th place and winning approximately zero delegates, Kamala Harris is currently Vice President of the United States. And then of course, there’s Pete Buttigieg, who after a few years as a lackluster mayor of a small city in Indiana, is now sitting pretty as Secretary of Transportation of all things.
So, why? Why is it that these two — despite the fact that they have objectively proven to be unpopular among not just the electorate overall, but the Democratic base in 2020 — enjoying these positions?
Well, for one, Kamala Harris is the one out of all the candidates running in 2020 that the Democratic establishment was hoping would win. Frankly, you could not have picked a more typical Democratic politician that the powers that be within the party would love…
