Is Joe Biden Actually Getting Impeached?

Republicans are sure making it sound that way.

The Republican Party certainly loves their drama, and creating it where they can. Whatever way they can manage to stay relevant or of course, create a distraction we can always count on the GOP to find and exploit it. Obviously, President Joe Biden has been a favorite for them to point to, and a new Speaker of the House has not changed that in the slightest.

It’s been a little bit since the idea of Joe Biden getting impeached was a hot topic, but we’re back again.

Rebecca Kaplan, Sahil Kapur and Rebecca Shabad with NBC News write:

“The House could vote to formally authorize the GOP’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as early as next week, according to Republicans leaving a closed-door conference meeting focused on the issue on Friday.

“That’s the plan,” Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., told reporters when asked if the House would vote on such a measure next week.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., one of three committee chairs leading the impeachment inquiry, said that GOP leadership would determine the timing of the vote…

…“I think our conference went home last week and they heard from people at Walmart, people on Main Street who were like find out the truth about Joe Biden’s knowledge and involvement in his family shady business,” he told reporters.

House leadership has not yet commented on how soon a vote could take place…”

“Heard from people at Walmart…”

They really have absolutely no respect for the American people, do they? It’s just incredible to me that a Republican lawmaker is going to sit there with a straight face in front of reporters and tell them they’re going to move forward with attempting to impeach Joe Biden because they were talking to people at Walmart…

Let’s be clear, they’re not talking to anyone. We all know they wouldn’t stoop so low.

They don’t have to. They know that this is the way for them to stay in the good graces with the right wing voters, and no matter the outcome there are many GOP lawmakers willing to go for it just for the sake of being able to go into an election year saying they tried. That’s really what it boils down to, and Walmart trips involving conversations with concerned voters has absolutely nothing to do with it.

As for if the attempt to impeach Biden will actually result in him getting successfully impeached, there’s not a chance and the lawmakers all know it. But they’ll say it, because that’s what their voters want to hear. It’s a waste of time, and pretending otherwise for the right wing is frankly just wishful thinking, or pandering.
