Is Elon Musk Really Going to Step Down as Twitter CEO?
I think he’s wanted out for a while.
It’s almost beyond parody, isn’t it? Elon Musk literally held a poll on Twitter asking if people want him to step down as CEO and said he would be abiding by it.
Of course, the results were a resounding yes.
So what next? Is Elon Musk really going to step down at Twitter?
Personally, I think he will. But of course, it’s not really going to be due to some silly unscientific poll. He doesn’t actually care at all what the people have to say, and regardless of what the outcome had been I can’t help but assume he would be leaving anyways.
Why? Because of the whole Tesla situation, of course.
He’s losing money hand over fist, and it’s absolutely wonderful.
Matt Egan with CNN writes:
“Elon Musk’s management of Twitter, including the banning of multiple journalists, has “severely damaged” market sentiment around Tesla, and risks sparking a backlash from advertisers and consumers, a Wall Street analyst warned on Monday.
Oppenheimer & Co. downgraded its rating on Tesla, where Musk is the CEO, solely because of risks posed by the billionaire’s ownership and management of Twitter.
