Regardless of how necessary people might think it is, it’s almost a cliche to point out the threat that Donald Trump poses. At this point, we have to acknowledge that if you don’t see it already, there’s no way you’re going to. The man is interested in nothing but his own self preservation and power consequences for the rest of us be damned, and that’s simply a given. But as we continue to watch for the seemingly inevitable announcement of a run for a second term in office for Donald Trump, we would probably be wise to remember that a certain protege of his is proving himself to be equally as ambitious and dangerous, if not more so. Personally, it seems to me that at least in a number of areas, Florida’s Ron DeSantis actually poses more of a threat than Donald Trump.

Don’t get me wrong. There are certain qualities of concern that set Donald Trump apart from his wannabe’s like DeSantis that make him so concerning. Trump’s charisma and the way his style undeniably seems to resonate with so many being number one, of course. And then you have his uncanny, relentless ability to somehow, no matter what the circumstances are, to turn himself into a victim.

As we all know, there’s absolutely nothing the right wing loves more than their perceived victims on their side.
