In a Photo of Him With a Gun, Ted Cruz Says He’s Hunting ‘Commies’.

The right just continues to escalate the rhetoric.

There’s not a single person following politics even remotely on the left who wouldn’t agree that the right wing’s increasing propensity for both violent actions and rhetoric isn’t just alarming, it’s dangerous. Especially, of course, when it comes from those in a position of power. Obviously Donald Trump is the poster boy for this phenomenon. Who can forget when a man — clearly inspired by the former President — walked into a Walmart in Texas and opened fire? How can we forget the spike in death threats that Representative Ilhan Omar received after Trump tweeted videos of the twin towers while criticizing her?

All that being said, while Trump might be the poster boy he’s certainly not the only one who engages in this type of behavior.

Ted Cruz, for instance, took part.

A Twitter user tweeted an image of the Texas Senator with a gun, captioning it with a question asking what he was hunting for. Cruz himself quote tweeted the image and responded:

“Commies.”

Obviously, there are far more egregious examples of the right wing inciting violence. This is mild in comparison to someone like Madison Cawthorn, or Donald…
