If We Don’t Hold Democrats Accountable.

We need to talk about the ramifications of letting all of this continue.

As I have said on an increasingly frequent basis lately, I firmly believe that now is absolutely the time for liberals and progressives to set differences aside, and at least attempt to have honest, good faith, productive conversations about where we go from here. Whether we consider the fact that Roe vs. Wade is about to be overturned, or how the increasingly fascist GOP is solidifying control across the country, it cannot be stressed enough how important it is to get organized, and be strategic. But as I’ve been thinking about this, one thing I keep coming back to is the massive difference between Democratic and Republican voters.

I mean, Donald Trump and his grip on the party is truly case in point. It’s been pointed out by myself and countless other times so often it’s almost become cliche to discuss how he would not have the hold on his fellow lawmakers if he didn’t have the robust support of the base behind him. A base that is not at all afraid of making it clear to their lawmakers where they stand, what they expect from them, and what will happen if they don’t play along. Lawmakers like Lindsey Graham who once attempted to make a show of standing up to Donald Trump now bend to kiss the ring, always coming back the second…
