If Need Be, AOC Says She Will Block the Infrastructure Bill “With Pleasure”.

I can’t get enough of progressive lawmakers understanding and using their power.

While the fight for the budget and infrastructure bills intensifies as the deadline rapidly approaches, I cannot get enough of the unprecedented show of strength coming from progressive lawmakers in congress. Admittedly, one lawmaker who has surprised me arguably more than any of the others is none other than Senator Bernie Sanders, who — as much as his heart and intentions might be in the right place — often hesitates when it comes to challenging his fellow Democrats too aggressively. That, interestingly enough, has not really been the case when it comes to the fate of the budget bill that contains virtually every progressive priority they could hope to get passed.

According to reports from The Hill, Senator Joe Manchin expressed that Sanders warned he could kill the infrastructure bill by marshaling progressives in the House if the budget bill doesn’t pass, and — judging from recent comments coming from the House — it doesn’t appear he’s bluffing.

Of course, Fox Business picked up on Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s question and answer session over Instagram. When asked about whether she would block the infrastructure…
