If Donald Trump Wasn’t Facing Four Criminal Indictments, Would He Be Running For President?
Sometimes, I wonder what his real motives are.
It’s virtually impossible to discuss Donald Trump’s reelection efforts without also considering the not one but four indictments he is facing, in cases ranging from fraud to his involvement in the attempted overturn of the 2020 election. Of course, one of the most interesting dynamics involved in all of it is the base, and the undeniable attitude they have taken towards these developments for their leader as they’ve unfolded. It’s been made obvious that Trump can do no wrong, and one of the most honest things he has ever said was that he could shoot someone in the middle of fifth avenue and get away with it, they would still support him.
Naturally, Trump’s team have decided to weaponize this sentiment in their approach to the legal proceedings. They have even going so far as to call for his trial to be televised. It has become such a focus of his campaign, such a deliberate effort to manufacture this unnecessary target on his back since all of it started, that part of me can’t help but wonder if he would even be running for President again if he wasn’t facing this mountain of legal issues.
