I Think the Right Wing Might Have Blown it For 2022.

I mean hey, I’m not complaining.

After primary night on August 2nd, 2022, it’s feeling safer to assume that there is a significant chance that the Republican Party really might have blown it for the midterms.

Don’t get me wrong, they’ll still probably pick up some seats in the House and even attain a small majority. But at this point, it feels safe to predict that “red wave” they had all but locked up in their favor is no longer coming. In the red state of Kansas during their primary election, voters took to the ballot box to vote for an amendment that would remove protections for abortion access in the state following the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.

How did it turn out?

Well, not only did voters in Kansas reject this amendment, they voted a staggering 63–27 in favor of preserving abortion access.

Things shifted after the June 24th Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, and that could not have been made more clear than it was in Kansas.

The talking points aren’t working anymore, are they? Across the country, the American people are seeing through the bullsh*t. The right wing, often so careful and calculating in their efforts to achieve their goals, has been getting a little bit sloppy. After all…
