Go Ahead John Kerry, Run!
It wouldn’t hurt anyone but the man he endorsed.
One day before the Iowa caucus former Secretary of State John Kerry was overheard in a Des Moines hotel on the phone talking about jumping in to the Presidential race.
“Former Secretary of State John Kerry — one of Joe Biden’s highest-profile endorsers — was overheard Sunday on the phone at a Des Moines hotel explaining what he would have to do to enter the presidential race amid “the possibility of Bernie Sanders taking down the Democratic Party — down whole.”
Sitting in the lobby restaurant of the Renaissance Savery hotel, Kerry was overheard by an NBC News analyst saying “maybe I’m f — -ing deluding myself here” and explaining that in order to run, he’d have to step down from the board of Bank of America and give up his ability to make paid speeches. Kerry said donors like venture capitalist Doug Hickey would have to “raise a couple of million,” adding that such donors “now have the reality of Bernie.’”
As hilarious as this news might be, it’s also incredibly revealing in a number of ways. John Kerry is literally talking about working with venture capitalists and bemoaning the fact that he would have to step down from his position with Bank of America in order to run and save the Democratic party from Bernie Sanders.
While Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden may have given him a run for his money, I don’t think anyone has ever encompassed the rot of the democratic party quite so easily without even intending to do so. This is the party the media has gaslit the American people in to believing is the party there to represent the working class, and the party that will fight for our best interests. If this is the Democratic party that they’re worried Bernie will take down, then I have never been more motivated to make sure that he does.
It seems apparent to me that when Mr. Kerry talks about Bernie taking down the democratic party, he isn’t referring to the inability of democrats to win if he was at the top of the ticket in November. He’s referring to the inherently corrupt, disgusting power structure that they have crafted so carefully over the decades. What will never cease to amaze me is the fact that Mr. Kerry is in all likelihood completely oblivious to the fact that he could not have given Bernie a better anti-endorsement. Rich, elitist failures really do despise him. That being said, Mr. Kerry’s statements also speak volumes about the delusions of grandeur and narcissism within him. This is a man who couldn’t even beat George Bush, and yet he really thinks he could be the one to save the day.
Mr. Kerry has since said he is absolutely not going to run, and I believe him. And yet, that doesn’t change how poorly this reflects on Joe Biden. Imagine the utter humiliation of having your top endorser overheard on the phone talking about how he’s going to have to jump in because he clearly feels you’re blowing it. It’s incredibly revealing about the lack of faith and questioning behind the scenes in his own campaign about whether or not Biden is truly up to the challenge.
Frankly, I couldn’t care less even if he was serious. Go ahead, Mr Kerry. Run! The only candidate it will hurt is the one you endorsed.
