Even Matt Gaetz isn’t Good Enough For the MAGA Base Anymore.

When it comes to Trump, no one is good enough.

As bleak as everything feels right now, we can at least find some sense of comedy in the fact that even right wing lawmakers in Trump’s circle of supporters are quickly finding out that the monster they helped create might get hungry enough to come for them, too.

The monster, of course, being the Republican base.

To be clear, I and I’m sure everyone else are watching this FBI investigation and the fallout from the raid at Mar-A-Lago to see what happens next, uncertain of what will unfold or what to expect in the future. Given the current political climate threats to the FBI and accusations of a partisan witch hunt against Trump seem almost second nature. Par for the course, really. But, one thing I did not expect was to see a primary challenger from the right for Matt Gaetz to use the spectacle to his advantage.
