Elon Musk is the De Facto President of the United States.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the American oligarchy.
I know most of us all saw this coming.
The United States, over the course of decades, has been built to function like an oligarchy. It’s been years in the making to see the full control of the right wing solidify itself, with the interests of no one but the most wealthy and powerful among us. Money in politics was always going to lead to this, and we have to give credit where credit is due. As sickening as it is to say, the right wing knew how and continues to show they’re able to capitalize on these moments.
But, that doesn’t make it any less unsettling to see someone like Elon Musk show himself to be the de facto President of the United States in a few short weeks.
