Donald Trump Claimed He Has Been Named Man of the Year in the Past. That’s a Lie.
The former President truly cannot help himself.
It’s been as surreal as it is satisfying to watch the continued downward spiral of the campaign of former President Donald Trump. For months now, the struggle he and his campaign have had attempting to regain the momentum they had captured and held before that first Presidential debate has been fascinating to watch. Suffice it to say that nothing really seems to be working, and while the election is certainly far from over limping into the final stretch of a razor thin race isn’t a scenario that any politician wants to be in.
I suppose it should come as no surprise that through it all, one piece of continuity for the former President has been his propensity and willingness to lie about anything and everything.
This time, it’s about being named man of the year.
At a recent town hall style event, in response to a question about keeping jobs in the United States, Trump said:
“…Years ago in this area, I was honored as the Man of the Year. It was maybe 20 years ago and the fake news heard about it and said it never happened, it never happened. And I didn’t know who it was it was a group that honored me as Man of the Year, the fakers…
