Do Americans Know What a No Fly Zone Actually Means?

The majority of people support a no fly zone over Ukraine, and that’s terrifying.

The war in Ukraine only continues to intensify. While it seems inarguable that Ukrainians have given Russia much more of a fight than they bargained for, the country is paying the price. Hospitals have been bombed, cities shelled, apartment buildings destroyed, millions displaced, and makeshift ICUs set up in bomb shelters. Every day, there are more stories of families forced to flee or cities under siege and with them, more discussions of a “no fly zone”. As much as we might sympathize with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, or the calls from other Ukrainian officials for help, a no fly zone needs to be firmly out of the question.

Unfortunately, evidently a majority of Americans support one which begs the question, do Americans truly understand what a no fly zone actually means?
