DeSantis’ Own People Are Acknowledging it’s Not Looking Good.

It will be an uphill battle to win the primary.

Since before he made the seemingly inevitable decision to step into the 2024 Presidential election, it’s been impossible not to acknowledge that Florida governor Ron DeSantis has put himself into a difficult situation. Granted, the man was a testament to how effective a candidate can be when they decide to ride the coattails of another politician. He attached himself at the hip to Donald Trump, and become one of the most prominent figures within the Republican Party and in the state of Florida in particular as a result.

Unfortunately for DeSantis though, he’s now dealing with the consequences of that strategy. It’s been pointed out by myself and others a number of times that he is now damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. He’s now in a situation where he had to run or face the very real risk of missing his moment, but now finds himself running against the man who made his career and is leading him by double digits in the polls. It’s so bad, that even his own people are already acknowledging it’s going to be a challenge.
