Define Woke, Ron DeSantis.
It’s a word he loves to throw around. But what does it even mean?
Ah, Ron DeSantis.
What is there to really say about him that hasn’t been said already? There’s no doubt the Florida Governor is the embodiment of the threat of fascism here in the United States, and yet we can find some comfort in knowing he very likely has absolutely no chance of winning the 2024 GOP nomination let alone the general election. But, that’s not going to stop him from trying and over the course of the coming months, it’s going to be fascinating to watch his approach and how it changes.
During a recent speech in Iowa on the campaign trail, DeSantis said:
“As president, I recognize that the woke mind virus represents a war on the truth so we will wage a war on the woke. We will fight the woke in education, we will fight the woke in corporations, we will fight the woke in the halls of congress. We will never, ever surrender to the woke mob. We will make woke ideology, leave it to the dustbins of history it’s gone.”
