Either way, she’ll be able to send a message.

As the nation has adjusted to the news that Kamala Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee following Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection campaign, we’ve watched the focus shift-at least somewhat-to what is supposed to be the upcoming debate and whether Trump will decide to face his new opponent.

Of course, he’s gone back and forth. It’s all part of that gimmick we have come to know so well over time.

Trump has publicly been waffling, moving goal posts and coming up with new conditions under which he would debate, if at all. Naturally, where he’s landed now is that he’ll debate Kamala, but only if it’s on FOX News.

I mean, it’s clear he’s not serious, right?

Trump has made it explicitly clear that he really does not want to debate Kamala Harris, and will continue to seek excuses and move goalposts in order to avoid doing so. He’s irritated by the shift in momentum in the direction of the Democratic Party, and while he might not be the sharpest tool in the shed he knows how to campaign and he knows that appearing on a debate stage with her most likely would not go well. It’s all a very delicate situation, though…
