Chuck Schumer’s Infrastructure Strategy Might be Getting Smarter.
I’m not getting my hopes up, but there are some interesting signs.
Considering there has been a significant amount of time and energy devoted to it, I’ve been following the evolution of the infrastructure debate among our lawmakers and the forthcoming bill(s).There’s no denying I have had my issues with the way everything has moved forward, whether it be Biden’s silly, premature, “mission accomplished” message that just left us frustrated and confused, or — most importantly of all — the bipartisan version which is currently set to hand over hundreds of billions of dollars worth of infrastructure to private companies. As many of us saw coming, all the concessions in the world still haven’t been enough to get Republicans on board for the bipartisan infrastructure bill, due — at least in part — to the fact that it supposedly been set to move forward with a Democrat-only reconciliation bill. All things considered, it’s been nothing but a mess.
Having said that, recent developments indicate that maybe — just maybe — Chuck Schumer could potentially have a smart plan in order to pressure Republicans to bend.
