Biden’s Already Beginning to Fold on Voting Rights.

It only took a matter of days.

It’s been a matter of days since Biden declared he was “done being quiet” and delivered a speech calling for Senate Democrats to set aside the filibuster just to pass voting rights legislation. Just yesterday I made my position on the speech perfectly clear, arguing that appears to be just another instance of all talk, no action, and Biden doesn’t seem to have any plan in place to get it done. Well here we are, just days after Biden’s speech, and he’s already folding.

Earlier today in regards to the voting rights legislation, Biden said:

“I hope we can get this done. The honest to god answer is I don’t know whether we can get this done…I hope we can get this done, but I’m not sure. But one thing for certain, like every other major civil rights bill that came along if we miss the first time we can come back and try a second time.”

How thoroughly embarrassing.

I mean, we all knew he didn’t have it in him, but to watch a lawmaker who is theoretically the most powerful person in the world lower expectations and…
