Biden is Cancelling $9 Billion More of Student Loan Debt.

Why not all of it?

With all the fuss and chaos going on with the Republican Party right now, it’s nice to see something substantive actually coming out of Washington D.C. This time it has to do with Joe Biden, and reports that he announced that an additional $9 billion of student loan debt will be cancelled.

Nikki Carvajal and Katie Lobosco with CNN write:

“The Biden administration has approved debt relief for an additional 125,000 student loan borrowers, totaling $9 billion in forgiveness, the White House said Wednesday.

The announcement comes just days after federal student loan payments restarted after a three-plus year pause.

Though the Supreme Court struck down President Joe Biden’s hallmark student loan forgiveness program, which promised up to $20,000 in debt relief for low- and middle-income borrowers, the administration has continued to find other ways to provide debt relief…”

While of course I’m happy for the people who are getting this lifechanging relief, it’s hard not to see stories like this and not feel frustrated. Frustrated for all those who are continuing to struggle to pay that debt. Funny, isn’t it, how they can slowly, methodically erase the debt for some but for whatever reason, they…
