Bernie Sanders Still Hasn’t Ruled Out a Run in 2024.

I’m not surprised.

I’ve been a supporter of Bernie Sanders since he was polling at around 3% in 2015. 2020’s primary in particular was an emotional roller coaster that shaped my view of American politics and the Democratic Party in particular for the foreseeable future. Watching the powers that be within the party coordinate more efficiently to stop him than they ever have against the GOP was absolutely surreal, and has undeniably left me feeling more frustrated and cynical than I was before.

Well, in a recent article detailing progressive’s desire to find a new face and leadership for their movement as we head towards 2024, we’ve once again been reminded that it doesn’t look like the Senator from Vermont is done.

Hannah Trudo and Amie Parnes with The Hill write:

“…There was a nascent effort this spring by close allies to prop up Sanders, 81, as an alternative if Biden doesn’t run and a leaked memo surfaced with talking points about his possible future plans.

Sanders didn’t shut down the idea of competing for the Democratic presidential nomination for a third time, saying this week in an interview with CBS News: “I haven’t made that decision.”…”

“I haven’t made that decision…”
