As Covid Cases Surge, Ron DeSantis Has Gone MIA. Literally.

It’s surreal to think that we’re entering year three of the covid-19 pandemic. Of course, that reality is only more sobering when we consider the fact that the nation as a whole doesn’t seem to have learned any lessons, or seem any more willing to do whats necessary to protect its people than it was when all of this started. Whether it be Biden stating unequivocally that there was no federal solution and that it would be dealt with at the state level, or Mayor Bill de Blasio absolutely refusing to scale back the New York City Times Square New Years Eve celebration any more than 15 thousand people even as the omicron variant rages, it’s been difficult not to feel abandoned by those in power.

That being said, the state of Florida seems to actually have been abandoned by Governor Ron DeSantis. Literally.

Even as Covid surges, DeSantis has not made a public appearance or address regarding the pandemic since December 17th. After mounting questions about his whereabouts and some online even going so far as to speculate that DeSantis was likely hooked up to a ventilator in a hospital with Covid, Aaron Parnas tweeted:
