Are We Heading For the Dark Ages?
I have to be honest, it certainly feels like it.
I don’t know about anyone else, but since the election I’ve been feeling a different type of way about it every single day. Today’s it’s acceptance. Today’s about coming to terms with the gravity of the situation, and the magnitude of what this country just signed itself up for.
Say what you will about social media and all of its flaws, but things were summed up quite well by Boston Smalls on Twitter, who wrote:
“America is about to enter its dark age. Extreme austerity. Gutted education. Religious tyranny, the roll back of social and civil rights. The mountain that ppl have been climbing the last 200+ years for a more fairer and just system, have just been pulled back down near to the bottom of the mountain. America is about to find out how cruel she can actually be to its own people. Ppl here are about to see what true American hate looks like…”
It’s one of those things you read where it hits home.
