Like a lot of 90s babies here in the United States, I grew up on Disney.

Some of my earliest core memories involve rainy days in the living room with my little brother, building forts out of couch seat cushions and blankets with a Disney movie on in the background and having some grilled cheese and tomato soup sandwiches for lunch. Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Cinderella…it might just be the intense wave of nostalgia talking, and Frozen, Muana, and Encanto get a lot of hype nowadays, but I don’t think there have been movie soundtracks made that rival Tarzan’s. You don’t realize until you get older just how much those little moments mean to you, and how beautiful it is to have those memories, movies, and those songs to reflect back on in the future when you share them with your nieces, nephews, or little kids of your own.

I guess that makes it even more upsetting that Disney appears to be making some significant, disturbing changes.
